Continuing RIA’s series of acclaimed Unlocking Innovation conferences we have teamed up with the University of Southampton, which is leading UKRRIN's Centre of Excellence in Infrastructure, for our next event – M.A.D.E. for Infrastructure, where M.A.D.E. stands for Materials, Automation, Data and Energy. The event will take place at the University on the 20 February and will be packed full of content, including presentations from:

Network Rail’s Chief Technology Officer Andy Doherty;
Network Rail’s Innovations Engineering Manager in IP Signalling David Shipman;
Babcock on construction plant innovation;
ABB on the future grid and the use of renewable energy in rail; and
National Composites Centre on the use of new materials in rail infrastructure

As well as presentations from Network Rail and major suppliers the event will provide a platform for around twenty SMEs to make a three minute elevator pitch on a range of innovative solutions targeted at improving rail infrastructure, as well as an exhibition space for organisations to showcase their capabilities. Elevator pitch and exhibition slots are limited and filling up fast! If you would like to present and/or exhibit, then please contact [email protected].

In addition to a stellar line up of speakers the event will also include:

a surgery providing delegates with an opportunity to engage with Network Rail’s Product Acceptance Manager;
a drop-in workshop focussing on rail worker safety; and
a tour of the National Infrastructure Laboratory facilities at the university.

Unlocking Infrastructure M.A.D.E. promises to be a characteristically energetic event and, as with all of RIA’s UI events, the objective is to provide space for organisations with different challenges and capabilities to come together and build new and innovative supply chains for the benefit of the whole industry.
