In 2024, we're planning a series of Unlocking Innovation events where everyone involved in the UK's railways can meet to share new ideas and tools that make the railways better and more efficient. These events will be a chance for people to learn about new technologies, find funding, and work together to make the rail industry the best it can be.
About Unlocking Innovation - Southern Event
These events are open for all and free to attend to allow for a diverse range of participants. We especially welcome innovators from all sectors to come along and explore opportunities in the railway sector or share their expertise and inventions from other industries.
Unlocking Innovation - Southern will focus on the opportunities to bring innovation to Network Rail's Southern Region and Route Businesses, as well as engage with other key railway clients.
Network Rail Southern Region is seeking innovative solutions to transform railway infrastructure management, specifically focusing on three key areas:
1. Infrastructure Monitoring, Inspection & Decision Support Tools
2. Enhanced asset knowledge through digital tools
3. Faster service restoration

We would like to invite innovators to apply for the exhibition space. Thanks to our Strategic Partners and Sponsors, we can offer this space free of charge to all innovators bringing interesting and engaging solutions.
RIA members will also have the opportunity to deliver a Spotlight Presentation at their stand.
