Peter joined the Association in December 2002 from the Railways Directorate of the Department for Transport. He had been with the DfT since 1994, working initially on the privatisation of the Rolling Stock Leasing Companies, then on the sale of other ex-BR businesses and finally on cross-industry liaison.
Peter was also heavily involved in setting up the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering (NSAR). He currently runs a number of RIA’s strategic Special Interest Groups which meet regularly with Network Rail, TfL and HS2. He represents RIA on the Planning Oversight Group (POG) and is the focal point for ORR consultations and other activity relating to PR18/ CP6 (and also the current CP5 shortfall). He also set up and runs the Renewals Cost Working Group.
Peter is 63, lives in Surrey with his wife Sue. They have three grown-up daughters and a three-legged cat.
