UK railway suppliers are invited to join a
Department for International Trade (DIT) trade
mission to InnoTrans 2022, supported by the
Railway Industry Association (RIA). Participants
will have the opportunity to take part in a tour
of the two UK Pavilions and exhibition halls,
apply for meetings with visiting DIT Commercial
Officers and attend the RIA/DIT networking
reception, held at the British Embassy.
InnoTrans 2022
InnoTrans 2022 is vital for the UK rail industry as it looks to develop
new trading relationships post-pandemic, following new free trade
agreements as part of the Government’s ’Global Britain’ agenda.
With an expected 3000+ exhibitors, 42 halls and over 155,000 trade
visitors, InnoTrans is amongst the largest rail trade fairs in the world.
Around 57 countries have a presence and there is an outdoor track
display area, where everything from tank wagons to high-speed trains
are displayed on 3,500 metres of track.
For the UK, we have two ‘GREAT branded’ pavilions with around
25+ companies exhibiting along with 80 UK businesses exhibiting
independently along with many of our UK based multinational
companies who are registered in the countries where their own
HQs are based.
There is expected to be a wide scope of products, technologies, and
innovations on display from around the world, including the Best of
British expertise in rail.
Objectives and who should sign up
The mission is aimed at creating a soft introduction to InnoTrans
and to allow mission members to explore their own initiatives,
see the latest rail products on display and to network with the
many exhibitors and visitors, with some value added as part of
this mission programme.
It is open to all UK registered companies, we would particularly
welcome:
• UK SMEs.
• Companies playing a role in promoting positive change
in the industry, through visible commitment to Equality,
Diversity & Inclusion.
• Companies contributing to the Governments Levelling Up
agenda of supporting exporters across all of the UK.

Tuesday and Wednesday 20 and 21 September
Costs & Travel
There is no charge to join this trade mission.
Delegates will be responsible for booking and
paying for all related costs, including their own
flights, hotels, and cost of ticket entry into
InnoTrans.
UK based SME’s may also wish to apply for
attendee support through the UK TradeshowProgramme. Deadline for applications is 4 August 2022.
With any overseas travel, it is recommended that
those travelling always check the latest travel
advice issued by the Foreign, Commonwealth &
Development Office.

• Pre-recorded InnoTrans briefing and video
to watch
• Group guided tour of the two UK Pavilions
on 20 September
• Group guided tour of a selection of the
42 exhibition halls on 20 September
• Opportunity to book 1-2-1 meetings with
DIT visiting Commercial Officers
• Invitation to the prestigious UK InnoTrans
evening networking reception, held at the
British Embassy in Berlin on 21 September

• The event is open to all UK registered
companies – a maximum of 2 delegates
per company
• Applications are open until full or Tuesday
