Northern Rail Industry Leaders welcome Sheffield Rail Plan

18 July 2019

Today, the Sheffield City Region Combined Authority has published its Integrated Rail Plan.

Justin Moss, Co-Chair of Northern Rail Industry Leaders (NRIL), said: “We welcome the Sheffield City Region Integrated Rail Plan today which shows how the region can boost connectivity through rail investment. It is very positive to see the region looking at how it can connect up different planned projects, including HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail, as well as improvements to the Midlands Main Line and Tram Train system, all of which will have transformational impacts to the Sheffield City Region.

“As the voice of over 40 rail businesses in the North of England, Northern Rail Industry Leaders look forward to working with the Sheffield City Region Combined Authority and Mayor Dan Jarvis in making the most out of planned rail investment, with an engaged rail supply chain at its core.”
