23 July 2025

Commenting on the appointment of Jeremy Westlake as the new CEO of Network Rail, RIA Chief Executive Darren Caplan said:

“The Railway Industry Association and our members welcome Jeremy Westlake to his new job as Chief Executive of Network Rail, and wish him well in his new role.

“He already has a history of strong engagement with RIA members and the supply chain, and we look forward to working with him in the months to come, as rail restructures and GBR gets established.

“Jeremy Westlake’s leadership and financial experience will be important assets, as Network Rail moves forward towards GBR over the next few years. “We also wish the very best to Sir Andrew Haines, as he moves on to pastures new in October, with our and our members’ thanks for being accessible and open during his seven years at Network Rail. Good luck to both Jeremy and Sir Andrew on their respective new horizons in the autumn!”
