Jewers manufacture the Swift-SEW industrial door, which has been purpose designed for installation onto rolling stock entrances on maintenance depots and stabling halls for heavy and light rail systems. Configured as side-hung, bi-folding doors, Swift-SEW doors are designed to open and close safety around live overhead-line equipment and fold across rail tracks without the need for a bottom guide channel in the threshold. Swift-SEW doors are operated by a powerful, centrally mounted SEW drive unit, which combined with a purpose designed PLC control panel incorporating inverter control for smooth operation, takes less than eight seconds to fully open and close the door. The control system has several spare I/O’s for integration with the building management system, depot protection system, fire alarm or wash plant equipment. Safety is ensured with full height pressure sensitive safety edges and photocell beams to create a safe zone around the door during operation. A cut-out in the door allows an OLE system cable to pass through, and is lined with safety matting tested to 30kVA to prevent bird entry. Electro-mechanical locks within the drive unit automatically hold the door in the closed position while optional automatic solenoid floor bolts provide additional security and protect against very high winds. The Swift-SEW is an extremely smooth, safe, and future-proof door system that will last as long as the building.
