Master of Ceremony: Pete Waterman

Dr Pete Waterman OBE, DL is one of the original working class heroes. From humble beginnings in Coventry, he has travelled the world and rubbed shoulders with some of the 20th Century’s most influential people. In his own way too, Pete has shaped various industries and continues to be a leading thinker in areas as diverse as music, travel (particularly by rail) and training.

Author, DJ, Pop Idol judge and television presenter, Pete is perhaps best known as one third of the hugely successful music production and song-writing partnership, Stock Aitken Waterman and for his world-famous PWL label.  In addition to this, Pete has the unique distinction of being the most successful producer-songwriter in British history. His many awards and recognitions include 13 Ivor Novellos as well as being named the Music Industry’s ‘Man of the Year’ in 1990 – which is not bad for someone who left school unable to read or write.

Keynote: Andrew Haines
Chief Executive, Netwrok Rail

Andrew Haines was appointed as Chief Executive and Board member of Network Rail in August 2018. Prior to this, he served as Chief Executive of the Civil Aviation Authority following a wide-ranging career in the rail industry, which included roles as Managing Director of South West Trains, and Managing Director of the Rail Division for First Group plc.

Lucy Porter
Comedian

Since 2001, Lucy has been a huge hit with comedy audiences up and down the country with her distinctive, bouncy, feel-good comedy - she is currently on her third sell-out nationwide UK tour. She has continued to travel internationally with her stand-up – taking in the far East (including shows in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Macau and Manila), Switzerland and Paris. She was also invited to Miami to take part in NBC's 'Last Comic Standing' and has performed in the States for NBC and HBO at their Las Vegas Comedy Festival. She's also regularly invited to festivals closer to home including Manchester, Glasgow and the prestigious Kilkenny festival, as well as other mud-soaked scrums such as Latitude.

Lucy is a regular face and voice on TV and radio panel shows. Most recently you may have seen her emerge victorious from a well-fought battle for the title of Celebrity Mastermind Champion in a special edition of the show for Children in Need. Lucy fended off stiff competition from Mark Watson and Dave Spikey and broke records by achieving the highest ever celebrity score. She has also appeared on two series of 'Mock the Week', two series of 'Argumental' for the Dave Channel, 'Have I got News for You', 'Clive Anderson's Chat Room', 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and 'What the Dickens?' On Radio 4, she is team captain on the popular 'Act Your Age', where she gets to work alongside such showbiz luminaries as Roy Walker and Barry Cryer, she can also be heard on 'The Personality Test' and 'The Unbelievable Truth'.
