The Railway Industry Association has a key
role in promoting the interests of the UK railway supply industry
in the European arena, including in the implementation of EU legislation
in the UK. Principal activities include:
Standards Development and
Interoperability
RIA organises UK supply industry representation on various CEN
and CENELEC standards committees and on the UK mirror committees |
Interoperability
RIA has been one of the leading players in the consultations
on the EU Interoperability Directives and continues in a key
role in their implementation and further development. Further

European Rail Traffic Management
System
RIA has played a major role in the development of the ERTMS
Programme in the UK . |
International Bodies
RIA is an active associate member of UNIFE
- the Union of European Railway Industries. It is also an active
member of EFRTC - the European
Federation of Railway Trackwork Contractors. |
