Kelly Warburton

Chief Commercial Officer

Global Centre for Rail Excellence (GCRE)

 

With a degree in International Business and Languages, Kelly started her career at Alstom Transport
as part of the Graduate Scheme in 2001. Kelly has pursued a commercial route through the Railway,
and after having completed the graduate scheme and 3 years in the business managing T&RS
accounts, Kelly joined NRS as part of the commercial team at Crewe focused on the Infrastructure
market.

In 2004, Kelly commenced her career with NRS, (now known as Unipart Rail), in a commercial
managers role, actively working her way through the ranks. Positions at Unipart Rail included
Commercial Director, Deputy Managing Director and Managing Director UK & Europe.  Whilst at Unipart, Kelly sat on both the Rail Board and the Group Leadership team.

Her experience in both the T&RS and Infrastructure market puts Kelly in a unique position of having a network and knowledge across the whole Rail Supply Chain. 

In June 2022, Kelly was appointed Chief Commercial Officer at the Global Centre for Rail Excellence (GCRE) in Wales, leaving Unipart Rail after 18 years.  Kellys' remit at GCRE is to develop and deliver a commercial strategy, that will transform the site of the former Nant Helen Opencast Mine and Onllwyn Washery at the head of the Dulais and Tawe Valleys in South Wales into a global hub for rolling stock and infrastructure testing, innovation, storage and maintenance.

Kelly is also Chair of RIA's Finance Committee.

Kelly has an MBA and actively support the Everywoman in Transport and Logistics programme, acting
as both speaker and judge.
